The Lord Will Watch Over Us

Tonight, Monday, here in Texas, we had a very sweet experience.  Six elders have joined together to pray for Dan’s healing.  “Our Team” came for the first time tonight. They will pray for us every day  no matter where they are.  If we need help, they will come to us. They have promised to be with us through the entire process.

The members of Our Team are Ervin Bishop (who helped prepare the Easy to Read Hungarian New Testament  that we have given to many in St. George, and he is a victor over cancer!), Rick Chandler, Keith Shelton (whom we have known and loved for almost 20 years), Lynn Waller (who helped lead a mission campaign for the congregation in Delaware where Dan preached in the mid 1960’s), Mike Willingham, and Rick Work.  We are thankful that these Intentional Followers of Jesus have been sent by the Lord to help us during this season in our life.

Dan is free of fever, but his thigh is red, warm and painful all around the area where the incision for the first cancer surgery was made.   We are glad he has an appointment with Dr. Anderson, the Oncologist, at 9:30 tomorrow morning, 5 August.  That’s the day he gets the 2nd dose of Gemsar, with Taxitar added.  The Taxitar is the heavy chemo with the possibility of very serious side effects.

Please, keep praying for the healing of the cancer, the healing of the lymph drainage problems, and the healing of the problems in his right leg.  God is hearing you. He has told me to keep praying and to trust Him.  In Psalm 121:8, David tells us, “The Lord will watch over your coming and going, both now and forevermore.”  This gives us peace.  — Anne and Dan
