Strength Returning

This past 7 days were an exact repeat of the first time Dan had the Taxetere followed by the shot to produce more white blood cells.  Those two bouts have taken a great toll on Dan.  He is very weak.  The mass continues to get larger making it painful for Dan to walk. However, the good news is that Dan’s strength is slowly returning. His appetite is better. The swelling in his foot is gone.  The leg is only swollen a little bit.

Friday, two important things will happen.  First, at 11:30 Texas time, Dan has a Small Group Bible Discussion in St. George, Romania…using Skype!  Adolf & Reka have arranged everything on that end.  We can see them very well! (Every day we “get together” with someone from SG using Skype.)

The second happening Friday – Dan will have a C-T Scan.  Monday, the Dr. will tell us if the tumor has gotten smaller.  We will discuss “what next.” Dan’s sarcoma is a rare type.  There has not been much research on that type.  There is an experimental chemo that works on low grade sarcomas.  Maybe it will work on Dan’s high grade sarcoma?

How do we keep going?  These past 5 days have been very rough.  When Dan could not eat anything I prepared for him, Dottie always came up with something he could eat.  Three precious sisters in the Lord brought organic fruits and veggies.  Brenda & Clark, our children in the Lord, brought an entire meal tonight. (The aroma of plain baked sweet potatoes is probably what got Dan to the table!) Several elders have been by to pray over us. Our Special Team of Shepherds pray for us daily. And our loved ones all over the world are sending up petitions to our Father every day on our behalf.  God is using all of you to help us in this battle.

Dan adds this thought –  “We know that the whole creation has been groaning as in the pains of childbirth right up to the present time. Not only so, but we ourselves, who have the first fruits of the Spirit, groan inwardly as we wait eagerly for our adoption as sons, the redemption of our bodies. For in this hope we were saved.” – Romans 8:22-24.  We hope you will ponder this. — Anne and Dan
