Living in a Whirlwind

Thank the Lord, the hurricane winds did no damage in our area, but Dan’s cancer makes us feel sometimes like we are caught in a whirlwind.  We have spent hours studying vegan diets, and now are studying one that has helped Stage IV patients recover.  I thought I’d come up with a pretty good tasting veggie smoothie for lunch today.  HOWEVER, the best thing Dan had to say about it was, “It’s really a lot to get down in one sitting.”  : > )  We had an 1 1/2 hour coaching session with an excellent nutrition expert by phone tonight.  He is e-mailing us pages and pages of material to read. But Dan is worth it.

Dan had a very rewarding hour with his Small Group Bible Study today in Sfantu Gheorghe.  They are serious students who love the Lord, and want to understand the Bible better.  This study brings Dan much joy.

In the morning, the Counseling Minister on staff where we attend church, is coming to talk with us about what approach he uses in cases such as Dan’s.  (He is a fine psychologist who is very interested in mission work.  We are going to talk about arranging a time when he can conduct a seminar for the therapists in Sfantu Gheorghe.)  Gerald White, the author of Three Months to Life, is talking with me about doing some training in Romania on how to use his method of guided visualization for cancer victims.

Even though we are very busy searching for the organic fruits and veggies Dan needs, grinding, juicing, discovering ways to help bring Dan’s body back to health, God continues to give us opportunities to serve the good people He called us to help in Romania. We live a very rich, rewarding life. Sherrie, one of our “daughters” in Maryland said, “God has a plan for everything that happens in our lives…even when we do not understand His plan.  God reveals His plan in due season.”

“Keep on trusting Him even when you don’t know what else to do…just think “Jesus, I need you right now. Please, show up for me,” and He will show up by giving you strength to go on, comforting support, enduring peace, and relaxing rest from all your troubles very soon.  Jesus understands how we feel. ‘It is good for our hearts to be strengthened by grace…(Hebrews 13:9-NIV).” — Anne and Dan
