We Have Left All We Had…

Our hearts are touched by the love extended to us by “our Family” around the world whom God has given us. The longer we live, we see time and time again the great blessing of being a part of the Family of God. Hundreds of Intentional Followers of Christ whom we don’t even know are praying for Dan’s healing.
“Why do they do this???”  The answer is simple – they heard about Dan’s illness from one of our friends.  They know that we are one in Christ Jesus. Dan is their brother and I am their sister…and one day, by God’s grace, we will all be together for eternity.  One of our desires is to meet each one who is praying for us so we can say, “Thank you!  We could not have made it through this nightmare without your prayers.”

Friday, five of our long time friends who are “family in the Faith” visited us – Clark and Brenda from Flower Mound, Mark from Seattle, WA, and Tom and Pat from Dallas.  Today, Arlene, from Amarillo, walked in as we sat in the atrium at the church building.  She is to help with a women’s retreat the Come Before Winter group is conducting next week.  (We normally are not at the building on a Saturday, but our internet is not working at the house.  So, we went there to use the free wireless.)
Each “Family member” God sent to us brought us a blessing – the gift of their presence.  God knows we need to be surrounded by family right now. In Luke 18:28-30 , “Peter said to him, ‘We have left all we had to follow you!’  ‘I tell you the truth,’ Jesus said to them, ‘no one who has left home…or parents or children for the sake of the kingdom of God will fail to receive many times as much in this age and, in the age to come, eternal life.” Thank you, God! — Anne and Dan
