God Is Helping in Many Different Ways

We praise God that Dan’s energy continues to slowly improve, AND, that the mass in his pelvic area is causing less pressure.  We keep praying that God will dissolve the masses before surgery.  There is one large one in his pelvis area, and one small one in his thigh that seems to have broken off from the large one. The small mass settled near the pocket of fluid that is still in his right thigh from surgery in January. Monday morning Dan has a Pre-Operation appointment at HEB Methodist Hospital in Bedford.  They will do some blood tests, and explain to us what he needs to do to prepare for surgery next week, Monday, 20 October.

Our sons, Bob, from Raleigh, North Carolina, and Scott, from Montara, California, will come Sunday, 19 October, and stay until Tuesday afternoon, 21 October.  Peggy Walton, a friend from church, is arranging for meals to be brought in every other day for 3 weeks.  Peggy and Lana Shelton are putting together a list of people who will help us in case of an emergency.

Lana is going to find someone to help me clear out the dust from the remodeling work done in this house a few weeks ago. She said that if she can’t find someone, she will come and help me herself.  We are blessed to be a part of a community of intentional followers of Jesus.  We are learning to wait – wait for the Lord to show the way, to help us work through the challenges in our lives.

I wish you could know our friend, Rusty.  Here is what he wrote to us when he learned the cancer was not growing

“I just sang this song to Jesus after hearing the news. Praise the Lord!!!

‘Be still and know that I am God,
Be still and know that I am God,
Be still and know that I am God.

I am the Lord that healeth thee,
I am the Lord that healeth thee,
I am the Lord that healeth thee.

In thee, O Lord, I put my trust.
In thee, O Lord, I put my trust.
In thee, O Lord, I put my trust.’

Rusty Peterman
Neighborhood Connections Minister”

We are learning to be still, trusting God while we wait on Him. God is very patient with us. — Anne and Dan
