We Were Not Expecting This

The good news is that the hematoma was full of old blood, and the surgeon could remove the hematoma. But the bad news is that the surgeon discovered a high grade sarcoma right behind the hematoma.  The cancer is growing behind too much in his pelvis. It cannot be removed surgically.  The surgeon could see enough to determine what size it is.

The hematoma was aspirated.  It is free of cancer, but the sarcoma was not visible until today.

I wrote a detailed account of the day, our feelings, who visited, who brought us food, and that we have many questions but no answers.  When I tried to post it, the whole thing blew up.  I will wind up with saying that we don’t know what is next.  We will continue the guided imagery, the anti-cancer diet, and prayer.  We weren’t expecting this kind of news.  We do not get to choose our challenges, but we do get to choose whether or not we let Jesus walk with us.  We choose Jesus. — Anne and Dan
