A Better Day

The Wound Vac is working well today.  Dan has been completely pain free – that’s a first. God be praised,  Dan had a good day today for the first time since one week ago.  When Dan has a good day, so does Anne.

Because of the heavy feelings we are having about Dan’s illness, the total disruption in our lives, being shunned by some family members to name just a few of our struggles, we have begun meeting with David Gililland, the Pastoral Care Minister at church.  He is very wise and compassionate.  Our meeting with him today was helpful.

We are happy that some of our family and friends are very supportive. But most of all, we are humbled that God loves us so much that He gave His only Son to die for our sins (John 3:16).  And besides that, His Son rose from the dead on the third day and today sits at the right hand of God to intercede for us (Col. 3:1, Hebrews 7:25).  Now, that is something to celebrate! — Anne and Dan

We have been gone for a few days, but we have not forgotten to continue to pray for you and Dan. My scripture for today was Luke 6:47-48 “I will show you what everyone is like who comes to me and hears my words and obeys. That person is like a man building a house who dug deep and laid the foundation on rock. When the floods came, the water tried to wash the house away, but it could not shake it, because the house was built well.” This reminded me of you and Dan. Your foundation is solid. Floods of illnes, fatigue and disappointment in those you thought you could count on will not shake your foundation. (A little silt on the floor, maybe…but still standing!) God bless you will new courage! You are doing good! Love, Ann J
