Taking Life As It Comes

With God’s help, we are taking one day at a time. Dan’s wound is about the same – no obvious infection; the little hematoma and foul odor are still there.  We don’t know what the future holds. We do know what we need to do to help Dan get well.  Just following the schedule is a full time job.  If we begin our day before 7 a.m., we can eat breakfast at 9 a.m. and go to bed sometime after 11 p.m.

Today, our friend Paul B., nurse for a lovely hospice care facility, came by to deliver a gift from his mother, 4 bottles of Xango Juice which is very healing for the body.  We had a good talk about what hospice care means.  There may be some help available there for us.  I need help if I am going to do everything that is required to take care of Dan.

Natasha was the next blessing for today.  She drove for 1/2 hour to get here, and chopped enough vegetables for 2 days of Dan’s diet. Because she prepared the veggies for salads, I got to lie down for 20 minutes!  The 3rd blessing was Dan’s meeting via Skype with the Small Group Bible Study in Sfantu Gheorghe.  Blessing 4 – After lunch, he had a long talk with Adolf via Skype. Blessing 5 – Debbie J. spent part of the afternoon with me learning from Dr. Day’s DVD about her victory over cancer using a vegan juice diet.  To thank Debbie for all the many things she has done to help us, I put 4 of my salad recipes on paper for her.  (I usually just chop and toss in what looks good, that I think will taste good — no recipe.)

Ecclesiastes keeps coming to mind as I write.  The writer wraps it up with, “…here is the conclusion of the matter.  Fear God and keep His commandments, for this is the whole duty of mankind.  For God will bring every deed into judgement including every hidden thing whether good or evil.”  Ecclesiastes 12: 13- 14. The people who were kind to us today will be remembered by God.  He will tell of the ways in which they made the day brighter for this old couple. We are blessed. — Anne and Dan

Hello! Feeling overwhelmed at times? Remember, Divine help is on the way! “I will remember that the Lord is kind. And, I will remember to praise the Lord. The Lord gave many good things to the family of Israel. The Lord has been very kind to us. The Lord showed mercy to us. The Lord said, ‘These are my people. These are my real children.’ So the Lord saved those people. The people had many troubles, but the Lord was not against them. The Lord loved the people and felt sorry for them. So the Lord saved them. He sent His special angel to save them. He picked them up and carried them forever . . . The Lord’s Spirit led the people to a resting place. The people were safe the whole time (Isaiah 63:7-9,14-ETRV).”

God remembers every good thing we do. “God’s followers spoke with each other, and the Lord listened to them. There is a book in front of Him. In that book are the names of God’s followers. Those are the people that honor the Lord’s name. The Lord said, ‘Those people belong to me. I will be kind to them. A man is very kind to his children that obey him. In the same way, I will be kind to My followers (Malachi 3:16,17-ETRV).'”

    Love to you,
    Sherrie H.
