A Rocky Path

Dan had a C-T Scan today of his chest, pelvic area and upper right thigh.  We have no idea when we’ll get the report.  Dan also had an appointment with his wound care doctor.  The incision is not healing because the sarcoma is growing very fast and pushing against the incision.  She taught me how to change his bandage in case he suddenly needs help.

All we know is that our path is very rocky and steep. You could say that we’re “living on the edge,” only this is the edge of eternity.  What we do know is that God is with us, and we are His.  That is all we need.  What we want is something entirely different.  We want facts.  We want Dan to be healed months ago.  We want to be in control!

That does not sound like living the “surrendered life.”  Yet  when we find ourselves living in fear, we have a talk with God , listen to Him speak to us through His Word where we find comfort and peace again. Another source of comfort is our loving friends and family.  I was blessed by a special  visit with Zsuzsa today via Skype, and got to blow kisses to Agoston, almost 3 years old now!  E-mail from Sherri helped me focus on God’s loving promises. Our son, Scott, and his beautiful wife, Michelle, spent hours getting Dan set up with Home Health care,  finding a Dr. and making an appointment with a California doctor who will prescribe the needed Home Health Care for the time we are out there. Sensing our fear from afar, our oldest son, Bob, in North Carolina, called this evening and talked with me until I felt peaceful again. Paul and Melissa helped me get Dan in bed after he took his pain medication too early.  That was an experience I almost wish we had on video! : > )

We don’t have all that we want…but God is providing all that we need.  We must need to breathe the  cool Northern California ocean air, because Thursday, using free air mile tickets, we go to visit Scott and family for 5 weeks if God wills.  “May our Lord Jesus Christ himself and our Father who loved us and by His grace gave us eternal encouragement and good hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word.” 2 Thessalonians 2:16 – 17 — Anne and Dan

I agree. I think Scott, Michelle, and the beautiful grandchildren are just the prescription that the doctor should order for you–and definitely what God is ordering for you right now. Scott and Michelle are uplifting children who love you both with the dearest love–May God bless them for all their sensitive care over you and Dan. May God grant you and Dan peace now and forever more. May God comfort your hearts and minds in the truth that you are God-approved, loved, and victorious over everything through Jesus.
    Love, Sherrie

I just read your update on your blog. I hope and pray you will have a safe trip to California. You are very fortunate to have a loving son and his wife to open their home to you. I know you appreciate them very much.

Your steadfast faith is very encouraging to all of us. May our Lord continue to bless you with the strength, hope, courage, faith you will need for each new day.
