Hold on Tight to God’s Hand

The day started off so well.  Dan’s Ph level was excellent.  He celebrated his new freedom with food by making hot cakes with maple syrup and fried eggs.  An hour later, he was very tired, and slept most of the day.  Temperature was 99.7 at 1 pm, 101.4 F at 5 pm.  Ibuprophen brought his temperature down to normal.  An infection keeps trying to grow in his wound area.

We see the surgical oncologist Jan. 3 at 9 a.m.  We hope we are back here in time for the memorial service for the father of our daughter in law.  It will be held here in the 50′ X 25′ living room.  This is a very challenging time for all of us.  Even tonight, this computer was “acting up” and lost what I wrote for the blog.

The only way we can make it through the days and dark nights is to hold on tight to God’s hand.  Jesus said, “Come to me, all you who labor…I will give you rest.”  I am ready for some of that rest.  I see the Pacific every day, but have not had time to walk on the beach for days now.  It’s such a blessing to be able to see the ocean from our big windows in the bedroom…reminding us that our God is a mighty God, and is always here with us. —  Anne and Dan
