The Day After…

Considering that Dan was in surgery 4 hours last Monday, and again 4 hours on Friday, he had an okay day today.  Doctors from all three surgical teams came by to check on him today.  They are pleased with Dan’s progress so far.  The Plastic Surgeon put him on a liquid diet. The movement made by digestion of normal food might disturb the healing process of the area from which they took the tissue to make the flap.

They just finished turning Dan in the bed.  Every two hours that has to be done.  So, I’d better see if I can get some sleep before they come back in to turn him. It’s going to be a long night.  Jamie V. sent some scriptures to encourage me that I want to share with you.

Romans 15:4 says, “For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.”

Psalm 130:5 – “I wait for the Lord, my souls waits, and in His Word I put my hope.”

Proverbs 30:5 – “Every word of God is flawless;  He is a shield to those who take refuge in Him.”

Hebrews 4:12 – “The Word of God is living and active.  Sharper than any double-edged sword, it penetrates even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow; it judges the thoughts and attitudes of the heart.”

II Tim. 3:16-17 – “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correecting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God may be thoroughly eqipped for every good work.”

II Tim. 2:15 – “Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth.”

These scriptures explain to some degree how God keeps us “going.”  Without God’s Word to guide and encourage me, I would be a completely different person.  Thank God for The Word – The Bible.  — Anne and Dan
