Dan Continues to Improve

We celebrate that Dan walked 75′ today using a walker!  He sat up to eat his meals.  Well, yes, he was very tired after all of that, but he did it!  The hospital Social Worker gave us a list of nursing homes to move Dan to for Physical Therapy.  He has to learn to use his right leg, and build his body back up. After Dan’s 1st surgery in Jan. ’08, our Dr. in NRH said she did not want Dan in a nursing home, because there are so many ill people in nursing homes.  In his weakened condition, he might pick up something from one of the sick patients.

So, here’s some specific prayer requests – that God remove all cancer cells from Dan’s body, that God provide a safe rehab place for Dan.  Requests for me?  Today was anything but a day off.  Please, ask God to help me stay well, get rested, and that God provide what He knows we need.  Right now, I must confess, I’m afraid He knows we need more faith, more trust in Him, more strength to fight off Satan to name just a few things.  The only way to get those kinds of things is to go through the fires of trial after trial.

Sherrie H. reminded us, “The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear [reverence] him…he delivers them.  Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who takes refuge in him” (Psalm 34:7,8).  “In all their distress he too was distressed, and the angel of his presence saved them.  In his love and mercy he redeemed them; he lifted them up and carried them all the days of old” (Isaiah 63:9).  And, “In him was life, and that life was the light of men.  The light shines in the darkness…He came to that which was his own…to all who received him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God…and born of God.  The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.  We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth…From the fullness of his grace we have all received one blessing after another (John 1:4-16).” — Anne and Dan

I am praying that Dan will be stronger each day. Anne, take advantage of the 3 siblings being out there and just let them take over while they can. Catch up on your rest and whatever else you need to do. I know you want to be right there by Dan’s side every minute, but remember he also needs you well!! I know a LITTLE of what you are going through and it isn’t easy to stay away for even just an hour or so. “Let go, let God” after all He has sent help!! Take care – we love you.

    Dearest Anne and Dan,
The apostle Paul teaches believers the way in which we go through the dark, hard, and painful times successfully. By remembering that our Lord Jesus is on His Way with our Victory as our Knight in Shining Armor, then at just the right time, God’s Promised Rescue shows up in big ways on our behalf. Our praise, thankfulness, and joy make marvelous things happen for our benefit. You exemplify this by your joy over Dan’s daily progress. Well done!

God’s opposite good qualities defeat Satan’s bad hurts everytime. Paul teaches Christians that our thankful joy for each day’s victory defeats Satan’s attacks on our lives, “Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! . . . Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:4,6,7-NIV).”

Mind and heart protection come from prayer, thanksgiving, joy, praise, and presenting our good solutions that we want happening to God our Father. The result that comes from our thankful joy over the good deeds God does everyday on our behalf is: God sends believers His personal enduring calm tranquility within our minds and hearts. God’s calm tranquility protects our thinking and feelings from despair and hopelessness. Isn’t it amazing how simple virtues like thankfulness, belief, joy, and praising the good results that God produces on our behalf each day brings our lives wonderful blessings straight from heaven — even in the middle of the dark storms. I love you both! Well done for praising God for all the good progress and improvements He makes happen on your behalf!

Declare the promises of God every single day. When we believe them, then we receive them. Jesus defeats every pain and darkness for His Precious Beloved People. “The prospect of the righteous is joy . . . (Proverbs 10:28-NIV).” ” . . . everlasting joy will crown their heads. Gladness and joy will overtake them and sorrow and sighing will flee away (Isaiah 35:10-NIV).” ” . . . because the joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10-NIV).” “those who hope in the Lord WILL renew their strength. They WILL soar on wings like eagles; they WILL run and not grow weary, they WILL walk and not be faint (Isaiah 40:31-NIV).”

I hope you will continue getting your rest, eating nutritiously, and meditating deeply each day on the Lord’s enduring Promises. In this way, your thinking and feelings can be refreshed by the Lord Himself with enduring hope. As always, my prayers for healing, cure, relief from pain, and total emotional comfort are going up to the Father for you everyday. May God bless you and Dan with the Lord’s infinite mercy, grace, and hope for brighter days ahead. Spread your wings and fly above the storms (Exodus 19:3-6; Matthew 8;23-27; Mark 4:35-41; Luke 8:17,18,22-25, Revelation 12:7-14.)

    Love to you,
    Sherrie H.
