A Very Fine Day

The weather this week has been almost “perfect” with greatly needed good rain at night, some rain part of the day, and sunshine the rest of the day.  The temperatures have been in the 50’s and 60’s F.   Today, Emily drove us to meet with Dr. Jahan. (He is the compassionate Sarcoma Specialist who is  supervising Dan’s care.)  On the way, Emily gave us a lovely tour along the coastline of San Francisco and through Golden Gate Park.  She also entertained us with information about the history of this  beautiful area.   TODAY EMILY HELPED US FIND AN EASTERN EUROPEAN BAKERY WITH BLINI,  SALADS, CAKES and many other foods that we miss!San Francisco Bay                                                                                                 San Francisco Bay

Dr. Jahan was very happy with the healing from the surgery that removed the softball size sarcoma in Dan’s pelvis, and the amazing plastic surgery technique that used Dan’s own skin to make a flap to cover the opening.  Dan is gaining weight now! In 3 weeks, Dr. Jahan hopes Dan will be strong enough to begin thinking about treatment of the two nodules in Dan’s left lung.

The problems Dan has with Parkinson’s and Restless Leg Syndrome have increased.  Dr. Jahan is arranging for Dan to see a Neurologist for this.  He is also arranging for an Internist to review the medications Dan takes with an eye towards reducing the number of his prescriptions.  Home Health care provides an RN to change the Wound Vac sponge 3 times a week, and a Physical Therapist who is helping Dan rescue the use of his right leg.

Tonight God gave this scripture to share with you – “The angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid.   I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.  Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you.  HE IS CHRIST, THE LORD. …Suddenly, a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, ‘Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom his favor rests.” Luke 2:10 – 14  — Anne and Dan

“But as for me, I trust in You, O Lord, I say, “You are my God. My times are in Your hand.”
