Natasha Is Here

Natasha Serves Dan Evening Snack

Perfect weather greeted Natasha when she arrived from Texas today.   She immediately began to pitch in to help with preparing meals, assisting Dan prop his swollen right leg, helping Dan get set up to rest in the lounge chair outside in the sun, staying with Dan while I went to the beach for the first time in days.

While at the beach, I walked for 5 minutes and spent the rest of the hour lying on the sand letting the sound of the waves relax my weary heart and mind. Dan was still tired today from the trip to see the oncologist on Friday.  He is hoping that he will be strong enough to attend church Sunday.

Natasha is staying in the Pink Room at the Goose and Turrets B & B overlooking a beautiful garden area.  We are thankful for Raymond and Emily’s hospitality.  By the way, Raymond treated us to our first taste of sea urchin marinated in lime juice.  The reviews were mixed from, “No thank you.  I’ll pass!” to “Hummm, interesting.”  I think sea urchins are safe from this family!

We are definitely seeing small improvement each day.  Dan is faithfully doing his physical therapy which is improving the length of his stride.  God will see us through this.  Our joy was made very sweet today because of phone calls from Dick and Hanny in Holland, and Don and Peggy R. in Alabama…friends for nearly 50 years.

Tonight’s reading is from Acts 7 where Stephen reminds the Israelites of their history about how Abraham was a pilgrim who went where God led him.  It reminds us that we are pilgrims whom God has led to many places in the world to serve Him.  Tonight, Natasha said, “God has a work for you to do here right now.”  We’re not sure what that work is.  We are the ones on the receiving end, being blessed by so many here.  God will make all things clear in days to come. — Anne and Dan
