A Day of Rest!

The tempest is raging as fog sweeps in

The tempest is raging as fog sweeps in

Amazing, amazing – we had no doctors to see, no rush trips to Emergency today!  I had time to rest!   I did thank Dr. Glenn Boyd, Searcy, (Dan’s cousin) who is going to organize a team to pack the donations for Covasna County Red Cross, and John L Kachelman, Jr., of Life Resources International, Justinia, AR, who is arranging for the container.  God is making all this possible!

Dan is doing a bit better today.  The Physical Therapist came again to give new exercises to strengthen his muscles.  When Dan does enough walking and propping his ankles higher than his knees, I don’t have to massage swollen feet and legs.  The RN who came today to change Dan’s  packing in his cavity, was amazed at the good job I did of packing and bandaging Dan’s wound last night.  I’m slow, and not well coordinated, but I can learn and do a good job.

Tomorrow is a hard day – the hour’s drive to the medical center, labs at noon, my appointment with Dr. Appelle at 2:20, and Dan’s appointment with her at 3:40.  Home by 5:30 p.m. if we are fortunate.

Again, God gave me Matthew 8:23-10:33.  The verses that stand out tonight are, “Jesus said, ‘Why are you so afraid?’ His disciples said, “What kind of man is this?  The winds and waves obey Him.”….”Then Jesus said to His disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few.  Ask the Lord of Harvest to send out workers into His harvest field.’ ….‘If anyone will not listen to you or welcome your words, shake the dust off your feet when you leave that home or town.‘….’If the head of the house has been called Beelzebub, how much more the members of his household!’

‘So do not be afraid of them….Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body in hell…. not one sparrow will fall to the ground apart from the will of your Father. And even the very hairs of your head are all numbered. So don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows.’

‘Whoever acknowledges me before men, I will also acknowledge him before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before men, I will disown him before my Father in heaven.” —  Anne and Dan
