Dan said, “I went in for an echo-cardiogram, and now I am stuck in the hospital fighting a major cancer!”  Dan has been given a private room at UCSF Medical Center on Parnassus in San Francisco.  The sarcoma in his left lung that is pressing on his heart is 10 cm (5″) across, about softball size.  Nine doctors helped take care of him today.

They are checking more carefully to see what is causing the terrible pain in his left shoulder.  He was given morphine for the pain at 9 p.m. (21:00)  That will also help him sleep tonight.

A decision about treatment – radical surgery, chemo – will perhaps be settled by Tuesday.  He will not be allowed to leave the hospital at this time.  Thank you for your prayers, calls and e-mails.  May God bless you for your efforts on our behalf. — Anne and Dan

Fear not, for I am with you; be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.

    Isaiah 41:10
