Really, There Is a Kommando, RO
Today, I had a vacation 3,500 feet high up in the Carpathian Mountains, in Kommando, Covasna County, Transylvania.

Snow, snow, everywhere. I was there...I just forgot to have someone take a picture of me knee deep in the snow!
The high for the day in Kommando was 14 F. Here we are, representatives of the Covasna County Red Cross, standing in front of the Hungarian style gate that leads to the Mayor’s office.

After the Kommando City Council approved giving 3.6 acres of forest land for 49 years for the Red Cross to build a youth camp on, Adolf & I posed for a photo with the Mayor and his secretary in front of the Romanian and EU flags.

The Mayor treated us to a delicious meal beginning with hot vegetable soup to warm our bones! Here's Joco, Ildeko, Maria and our server.

Here is where we will build the camp for 100 underprivileged children who live in Covasna County. The camp will be used year round to bless many people.

Celebration Time!
How do we celebrate in St. George, Covasna County, Transylvania, Romania? Let me show you!
On Sundays, we always come together to remember the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ. We also meet at other times to celebrate special things in our life.
Marti had a birthday Sunday…and now that he has his university degree, he has a new job.

After the party was over, I drove my Skoda over this - my street - still unpaved - but I learned to drive on snow and ice in Texas. Really. I am telling the truth. I made it home without any problems. God is good...all the time.

A View from the Top
Before the snow melts completely, join me on the back balcony to look down the gentle mountain slope to the houses below mine. Rising behind those houses is another mountain slope rising up towards heaven.

There's still a nice pile of snow in the front yard. My neighbors cleared the sidewalks and my driveway. What a lovely "welcome home" gift.

Looking to the West, snow is everywhere - so pure, covering Sugash Mountains. You probably can't see it, but my swing set has footprints leading to it. My neighbor's child and friends swing, built a snowman and a fortress in my yard.
It’s supposed to be only 26 F tonight, with a high of 36 F on Sunday. Is it warming up?Wordpress has “improved” their site. I’m curious what will actually show up in the blog.
The brightness of the snow reminds me of Ezekiel 43:2 “…the ground was bright with the Glory of God.” — Anne
A BIG Surprise!
Celebrate with me! Yesterday God brought me back to Sfantu Gheorghe, Covasna County in Transylvania, Romania. With this 5 year visa, I can come and go for 5 years before I have to apply for a new one! This is a beautiful country. God brings many good people to me. My body is still free of cancer. I’m recovering well from major surgery last December.

Snow Traps Thousands in Romanian Villages
God’s Children needs your help to save lives devastated by the Level Orange Snow Storm in Romania. Romanian authorities declared a state of emergency Monday in eastern Romania, where 6,000 people have been cut off for days. About a dozen major roads were closed, 300 trains cancelled and more than 1,000 schools shut down.
In addition to the flights, the defence ministry also sent 8,000 soldiers out clearing roads across Romania and helping those trapped by the overwhelming snow. With roads being opened, tunnels dug to the houses, we can get food and fuel to those who are still alive. Please, pray for them, and donate so we can rescue them from hypothermia, starvation, and severe illness brought on by this devastating blizzard raging across Romania and other European countries.
“I was hungry and you fed me. I was naked and you gave me clothes to wear. I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink. I was hungry, and you gave me food: I was thirsty, and you gave me a drink: I was a stranger, and you took me in: Naked, and you clothed me: I was sick, and you visited me…And the King said, ‘In that you have done this for the least of these my children, you have done it for me.” Paraphrase of Mt. 25: 35,36. — Anne
