Really, There Is a Kommando, RO

Today, I had a vacation 3,500 feet high up in the Carpathian Mountains, in Kommando, Covasna County, Transylvania.

Snow, snow, everywhere. I was there...I just forgot to have someone take a picture of me knee deep in the snow!

The high for the day in Kommando was 14 F. Here we are, representatives of the Covasna County Red Cross, standing in front of the Hungarian style gate that leads to the Mayor’s office.

After the Kommando City Council approved giving 3.6 acres of forest land for 49 years for the Red Cross to build a youth camp on, Adolf & I posed for a photo with the Mayor and his secretary in front of the Romanian and EU flags.

The Mayor treated us to a delicious meal beginning with hot vegetable soup to warm our bones! Here's Joco, Ildeko, Maria and our server.

Wild game is abundant in the Carpathian Mountains. This restaurant exhibits some.

Here is where we will build the camp for 100 underprivileged children who live in Covasna County. The camp will be used year round to bless many people.

Going back down the mountain side, we had to make way for a few huge logging trucks.

The ski lift on the edge of town. Kommando is a great vacation spot yet unknown to many people.

Deep snow, quiet forest, peace all around us. A day well spent!

To God be the glory! Great things He has done! “In all your ways, acknowledge God, and He shall direct your path.” Proverbs 3:6 — Anne
