When In Rom…ania, Do As the Romanians Do! (Guest Writer, Carolyn Waters, visiting from Butler, Tennessee)

Our trip to beautiful Romania has been a real adventure thus far.  After arriving in Sibiu and seeing some of the ancient architecture, we then were brought by car to St. George late at night.  The weather was much like what we had left back in Boone, North Carolina…cold with a wintry mix of rain and snow.  

   The next day dawned clear, and we were off to Mikes School, where we spent the day with their hard-working librarian and other librarians from Covasna County.  I am so impressed with their desire to inspire and motivate their students to work hard to achieve their fullest potential.  Romania has a wonderful opportunity to achieve great things as a country, through it’s young people, it’s greatest resource!

    We have met some of the wonderful people working for the Red Cross, Adolf the Executive Director, and Andrea, Project Manager, who work tirelessly for the good people of St George.  I hope within the next few days to meet others, like Huni, Andrea and Robi, who I understand have made great contributions for the betterment of this wonderful community.  Our desire in coming here was to bring some small help and encouragement to the people of St. George – believe me, it has been a great encouragement to us!

God is with us, lighting the path which He prepares for us.  We celebrate that we chose to follow the path that led us to St. George, Transylvania, Romania. — Anne
